TicketsFERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – University of Cincinnati women's golf finished its first event of the spring season in 13th place at the Amelia Island Collegiate at Amelia National Golf Club.
Individually, Daniela Murcia finished tied for 32nd after a final round of +5. She had a strong start, playing 1-under through her first twelve holes in the last round. Vanessa Manrique had the best third round, shooting -2 with five birdies. She finished tied for 35th, +9. Teammate Alyssa Burritt was +4 on the day to also end in a tie for 35th. Angela Lopez finished tied for 56th and Natalia Sompolvorachai ends the event in 76th place. Playing as an individual, Paighton Masterson tied for 72nd.
The Bearcats led all teams with three eagles and was one of only of seven teams to record an eagle at all throughout the competition. UC played its best on par-5's, finishing even. Manrique was one of the best on the par-5 holes. She came in at -5 on the longest holes, good for second-best in the tournament. She had one of the ten eagles while Murcia led the field with two.
UC will be back in action March 9-10 at the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Florida.
