// HOW IT HAPPENED
Cincinnati opened the scoring with Nause scoring as Borzillo assisted with just under two minutes coming off the clock. Ohio State answered with a pair of goals before Amanda Fess (Mottice assist) and Alyssa Adams (Borzillo assist) scored back-to-back goals to give UC a 3-2 lead. That advantage was short lived, however, as the Buckeyes went on a four-goal run to build a 6-3 lead. Mottice scored (Borzillo assist) at 4:46 to draw UC back to within two, but OSU scored twice more before Sam Mlkvy added a goal (Mottice assist) to close the scoring in the first half and UC trailing, 8-5.

In the second half, The Bearcats jumped out quickly as Borzillo scored back-to-back goals to cut the deficit to one (8-7), but OSU would score three in a row to reclaim a four-goal advantage with 19:12 remaining. Mottice's second of the game (Nause assist) halted the run, but the Buckeyes would add two more for a 13-8 lead. Borzillo followed with two more goals as UC trailed 13-10 with 12:03 to play, but were unable to score again while the hosts added two more to close the scoring at 15-10.

// BORZILLO GETS GOING
Entering the game, Borzillo had scored twice and added one assist in the first two games of the season. Today, she blew those numbers away as she recorded a team-high four goals while adding three assists as well. Today marked the 26th time in her career that she has posted a hat trick, leaving her four shy of the all-time record of 30 that Laura Simanski recorded from 2009-12.

// MIGHTY MOTTICE
Several rookies have made big impacts at the start of the season with Mottice leading that charge. Entering the game, she scored one goal and added three assists for four points. Today, she doubled her point total as she tallied two goals and two assists for four points, bringing her season total to eight points. Her two goals also marked her first multiple-goal game as a collegiate player.

// BROCATO SAVES
Brocato recorded a career-high 10 saves in the game, surpassing the six saves she made last year at #20 Michigan (3/4/19). Today's saves total marks the highest of the season and her first double-digit total of her collegiate career.
