HOUSTON, Texas - University of Cincinnati swimming and diving reached the podium three times on the opening day of the American Athletic Conference Championships with one gold medal.
 
The night started with an impressive Bearcats sweep in the men's 500 free relay. Din Selmanovic won the event for the second year in a row (4:19.27) while teammates Noah Smith and Michael Balcerak finished second and third, respectively.
 
Dominic Polling was also a repeat winner, collecting the 200 IM gold medal for the third consecutive season. Polling reached the wall in 1:45.58, just shy of his own school record time.
 
UC's women finished the night with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay, swam by Maddie Exton, Lina Kutsko, Claire Farrell and Abby Johnston in 1:31.40.
