TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ­– University of Cincinnati baseball gave up one big inning to lose 10-1 at No. 12 Florida State on Sunday afternoon in the series finale.

The Bearcats outhit the Seminoles 25-24 in the series and committed just three errors to the home team's ten. 
 
// NOTABLES
• Joey Bellini continued to lead the team in hitting as he finished 2-for-3 with a double
• Griffin Merritt homered in his second-straight game and also had a single
• Joey Wiemer had the team's other extra-base hit, a double
• Drake Batcho went 3.0 innings in the start. He struck out a career-high seven batters and did not give up a hit, but gave up two runs on six walks and four wild pitches
• Garrett Schoenle threw the bulk of the game out of the bullpen, going 3.2 innings with two runs, four hits, no walks and on strikeout
 
// KEY INNINGS
Bottom of the 1st

For the first time this season, the Bearcats were not the first team to score in the game. The Seminoles scored on in the opening frame on two walks, two wild pitches and a third wild pitch to take the lead
Top of the 2nd
It didn't take long for UC to tie it. Merritt led off the second with a solo homerun to right center
Bottom of the 4th
Florida State was able to capitalize on some UC miscues and scored seven runs in the fourth. Two walks, a fielder's choice, hit batter and walk gave the Seminoles a one-run lead. Then another hit batter, throwing error and walk brought two more home and loaded the bases. FSU smacked a grand slam to center field to bring the score to 8-1

A pair of two-out base hits brought in another run for FSU, but a strikeout ended the inning
Bottom of the 8th
The Seminoles tacked one more run when a leadoff walk made his way home later in the inning on a single
