TicketsCINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati tennis team won its second-straight match Friday night in front of a home crowd at Western Tennis and Fitness Club. The Bearcats won two out of three doubles matches before sweeping all six singles in straight sets.

UC dropped the first doubles match before winning the next two for the opening point. The # 3 team of Kelli Niehaus and Anna Philp started with a 6-0, but IUPUI answered with a 6-3 win of their own as #1 team Ioana Guna and Caroline Morton dropped their contest. Alexia Coutino and Emma Miceli secured the doubles point with a 6-3 victory.

All six singles matches went the Bearcats' way in straight sets. Emma Miceli made quick work, winning 6-1 and 6-0 to start the streak. Caroline Morton followed with a 6-2, 6-1 victory and Ioana Guna finished next, winning 6-2 and 6-0 to secure the team victory. Kelli Niehaus was the next to finish, going 6-3 and 6-0 and was followed by a 6-1, 6-0 victory by Maria Santilli. Alexia Coutino made the sweep complete with 6-1 and 6-4 wins. She was down 4-3 in the second set before battling back.
