TicketsUniversity of Cincinnati baseball's Griffin Merritt has been named to the American Athletic Conference's weekly honor roll as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Merritt led the team with a .667 average during UC's four-game sweep of Oakland this past weekend, hitting two doubles and one triple for seven RBI and a 1.111 slugging percentage. He added in three walks and was hit once to get on base at a .769 rate. Merritt started the series going 2-for-2 with three RBI, two walks and a run scored in an 18-0 win. On Saturday, he hit a pinch-hit double and scored the game-tying run. He had another 2-for-3 game with a double and three RBI in game one of the doubleheader Sunday then ended his weekend with a triple and RBI.
This marks the first conference honoree for the Bearcats so far this season and the first conference honor in Merritt's young career.
