University of Cincinnati swimmer Lina Kutsko has qualified in the 100 butterfly for the women's NCAA Championships held March 18-21 in Athens, Georgia.
Kutsko is the first female Bearcats swimmer to make it to the NCAA Championships since Jackie Keire swam the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle in 2017. Men's distance swimmer Chris Bready also qualified in 2017.
Kutsko owns the UC record in the 100 fly, coming to the wall in 52.20 in the American Athletic Conference Championships a few weeks ago, breaking her own previous record. She is the third Bearcats student-athlete to extend the postseason as divers Claire Schuermann and Tricia Roscoe will both be competing at NCAA Zones next week.
