University of Cincinnati freshman Cole Harris (Carmel, Ind./Carmel HS) posted a 6-over 78 Tuesday to finish tied for 19th place at 16-over 79-75-78=232 at the Challenge at Concession in Bradenton, Fla.
Harris led all UC players through difficult conditions as the Bearcats completed the 54-hole event in sixth place at 75-over 322-308-309=939.
Harris' bright spot came with three consecutive birdies on holes 12 through 15 as he wrapped up his first nine holes of the day. The result marks Harris' first Top-20 finish in six events in 2019-20.
Junior Clay Amlung (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier HS) and redshirt-sophomore Tommy Sullinger (Sylvania, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit HS) tied for 27th place three strokes behind Harris. Amlung carded a 6-over 78 to finish at 19-over 81-76-78=235. Sullinger wrapped up play with a 7-over 79 to finish at 19-over 81-75-79=235.
Junior Joe McCarthy, playing the event as an individual unattached from UC's team score, took 36th place at 21-over 76-79-82=237. Sophomore Sam Jean (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove HS) produced the top round by a Bearcat on Tuesday, posting a 2-over 74 to finish at 22-over 82-82-74. Redshirt-freshman Jack Kunkel (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview HS) tied for 52nd place at 32-over 81-82-85=248.
USF claimed the team title at 35-over 299-300-300=899.
High Point's Brendan MacDougall earned individual medalist honors at 1-over 73-71-73=217.
