CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics' weekly Watch Party goes back to 2009 on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 7 p.m. ET to relive one of the greatest games in school history, football's 45-44 come-from-behind win at Pitt on Dec. 5, 2009.
The win over Pittsburgh clinched the 12-0 regular season, the BIG EAST Conference Championship and an eventual spot in the 2010 Allstate Sugar Bowl vs. Florida.
Then No. 5 Cincinnati trailed Pittsburgh by 21 points late in the first half, putting its bid for a perfect regular season in peril. Mardy Gilyard gave the Bearcats a much-needed jolt with a 99-yard kickoff return before halftime and Tony Pike's 29-yard TD pass to Armon Binns with 33 seconds left and Jcob Rogers ensuing PAT finished the comeback, left the Heinz Field crowd in stunned silence and secured UC's second-straight BIG EAST Conference title and Bowl Championship Series bid.
Sean McDonough, Matt Millen and Holly Rowe were on the call for ABC.
