CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati football game on Saturday, Sept. 19 against Austin Peay in Nippert Stadium will move to ESPN+ with the kickoff time remaining at noon ET, the American Athletic Conference announced Wednesday.
The UC-APSU game is the first to appear on ESPN+, ESPN's industry-leading direct-to-consumer sports streaming service, under the terms of the conference's landmark TV deal which was announced in March 2019. At least 1,000 American events will be featured on the platform beginning in 2022-23 and in each subsequent year of the contract. In the first two years, 1,250 events (500 in 2020-21 and 750 in 2021-22) will be distributed on ESPN+.

Tulsa's game at Oklahoma State, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, will move into the ESPN noon slot on Saturday, Sept. 19.
The Bearcats and Governors meet for the seventh time with UC holding a 7-0 edge in the all-time series. The Sept. 19 season opener is the latest start for a UC season since the Bearcats opened the 1968 campaign with a Sept. 21 road game at Texas Tech.
UC, ranked No. 20 in the AP preseason poll and No. 22 in the USA Today poll, return 16 of 22 starters on the offensive and defensive side of the ball and 13 of the team's top 15 tacklers from the 2019 team which won 11 games, the AAC East Division title and the Birmingham Bowl. The Bearcats ended the season ranked No. 21 in all three major polls, won 11 games for only the fourth time in the program's 132 seasons and had back-to-back 11-win seasons for only the second time in school history.
