CINCINNATI - The No. 13/14 University of Cincinnati football team opens 2020 on Saturday, Sept. 19 against Austin Peay at Noon ET inside Nippert Stadium. The game will be televised by ESPN+ and air on 700 WLW AM. The Sept. 19 season opener is the latest start for a UC season since the Bearcats opened the 1968 campaign with a Sept. 21 road game at Texas Tech.

UC closed 2019 with an American Athletic Conference East Division Championship, a win in the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl and the No. 21 spot in all three major polls (AP, USA Today, CFP). The Bearcats won 11 games for only the fourth time in school history while the back-to-back 11-win seasons in 2018 and 2019 occurred for only the second time in UC's 132 seasons of football. Eleven student-athletes earned all-conference honors including a school-record seven first teamers.

The Bearcats and Governors meet for the seventh time with all six matchups occuring at NIppert Stadium. UC leads the all-time series 6-0. The last game came in the 2017 opener, Head Coach Luke Fickell's first game at Cincinnati.
