TicketsCINCINNATI – The 20th-Annual University of Cincinnati Athletics Legion of Excellence Gala, scheduled for the fall of 2020, will not take place due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Director of Athletics John Cunningham announced.
The event annually recognizes the best of UC Athletics, from honoring scholar student-athletes and hall of fame inductees to donors named to the Order of the Black Blazer and recognized with the Strubbe Distinguished Service Award.
While the gala will not take place, UC Athletics will still induct a student-athletes representative from each sport into the Legion of Excellence.Selection for the legion is based on the highest cumulative grade-point average on the respective team for the previous school year and good academic standing within the individual's athletics team and college.
More information on the 2020 Legion of Excellence inductees will be announced once it's finalized.
Additionally, UC will not induct a class into the UC James P. Kelly Athletics Hall of Fame, name a Strubbe Award winner or Black Blazer honorees. Fans can nominate inductees for the next hall of fame class online.
