CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder (Louisville, Kentucky/St. Xavier) was named the Generation UCAN Walter Camp Football Foundation Football Bowl Subdivision National Offensive Player of the Week for games ending Oct. 24.

Ridder accounted for four touchdowns, three rushing and one passing, in a 42-13 American Athletic Conference road victory at No. 16 SMU. The junior rushed eight times for a career-best 179 yards, his fifth-career 100-yard rushing game, setting a school record for quarterbacks. He also finished 13-of-21 passing for 126 yards, a TD and zero sacks.

The 179 yards is a single-game UC QB rushing record. Ridder had a 91-yard TD scamper in the fourth quarter, a career-long run which is tied for the longest rush and longest rushing TD in school history. It is the eighth performance of 179 or more yards with eight of fewer carries in the NCAA FBS since 2000.
