The latest episode of "Fresh Faces Presented by Kroger" introduces Bearcats Nation to UC men's basketball freshman forward Tari Eason.

A native of Seattle, Washington, Eason was rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and 247Sports.com before he signed with the Bearcats in April.

"Tari is someone we targeted from our first week on the job," UC head coach John Brannen said when Eason signed. "Coach (Jayson) Gee and our recruiting staff did an excellent job building a relationship with Tari and his family. Tari brings the length and athleticism that is required for our league. What sets him apart is his ball handling and passing ability from the forward position."

"The relationship with the coaches (was key in my decision to come to UC), I felt like I was at home," Eason said. "Ever since my visit, I felt real comfortable. (Plus,) the fan base has welcomed me with opened arms. I've been really excited about them and they've been really excited about me since I've been here."

Eason gained 3A Player of the Year accolades from the Associated Press and the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches after guiding Garfield High School to the state championship while averaging 23.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.4 blocks a year ago.

"(I'm) a guy who gets it done on the court, defensively or offensively," Eason said. "Whatever you need: a bucket, a rebound, a stop, a block, anything. I'm just a guy who gets it done by any means necessary."

"Fresh Faces Presented by Kroger" will spotlight all Cincinnati men's and women's basketball newcomers leading up to the 2020-21 season.
