CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati linebacker Jarell White (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle) was named
the Generation UCAN Walter Camp Football Foundation Football Bowl Subdivision National Defensive Player of the Week for games ending Nov. 14.
White had a 26-yard interception return for a touchdown to go along with seven tackles, a sack and QB hurry in UC's 55-17 win over East Carolina on Friday, Nov. 13. It marked the Bearcats first defensive TD of the year and the first score of White's career. He is the second Cincinnati player (QB Desmond Ridder, Oct. 25) this season to earn Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors since 2004. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.
The No. 7 Bearcats return to action on Saturday, starting a three-game road trip to close the regular season at UCF. Kickoff from the Bounce House is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and 700 WLW AM.
