Football No. 7 In Initial CFP Rankings

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati football team earned its highest-ever College Football Playoff ranking Tuesday, ranking at No. 7 in the initial poll of the 2020 season.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati football team earned its highest-ever College Football Playoff ranking Tuesday, ranking at No. 7 in the initial poll of the 2020 season.
 
UC (8-0, 5-0 American Athletic Conference) climbed as high as No. 17 in 2019 CFP ranks, before closing the season in the polls for the first time at No. 21.
 
Cincinnati sits at No. 7 in all three major polls, the CFP, Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls, its first Top-10 ranking since the 2009 season. The Bearcats ranking is the highest ever in the CFP for a team outside of the five autonomy conferences, topping UCF's No. 8 ranking in 2018.
 
The No. 7 Bearcats return to action this weekend, continuing three-game road swing at Temple on Saturday, Nov. 28. The game will kick off from Lincoln Financial Field at 4 p.m. ET on ESPNU and 700 WLW AM.
