The matchup came about following today's announced postponement of the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout between UC and Xavier scheduled for Thursday. The UC-Xavier contest was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Xavier women's basketball program.
UC (1-1) is coming off an 81-58 setback at Florida on Saturday.
Marquette (2-1) posted an 89-40 home win over Providence on Friday.
Marquette leads the all-time series 23-14. The two teams haven't played since splitting a pair of meetings during the 2012-13 campaign.
