CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati football team fell to No. 9 in the penultimate College Football Playoff rankings of the 2020 season Tuesday.
The Bearcats have gone from No. 7 to No. 9 over the past two weeks despite not having played a game, qualifying for the American Athletic Conference Championship and moving up to No. 6 in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. UC finished the regular season with an 8-0 record, 5-0 in AAC play.
Cincinnati's No. 6 in the AP and Coaches polls are its first Top-10 ranking since the 2009 season.
UC faces No. 23 Tulsa in the 2020 American Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. ET inside Nippert Stadium. The game airs on ABC and 700 WLW AM.
AAC CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS
AAC Football Championship tickets go on sale to Bearcats season-ticket holders at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday. Tickets start at $29 and season-ticket holders can purchase at 11 a.m. Wednesday by logging into their ticket account or by calling the ticket office at 1-877-CATS-TIX. Any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 18. Ticket purchasers will be limited to four tickets per account and will be socially distanced in the stands. Due to anticipated wait times on the phone, fans are encouraged to log in to their ticket account first before calling the ticket office.
