Cincinnati Drops 83-68 Decision at Georgia

Jeremiah Davenport scored a career-high 18 points but Cincinnati fell 83-68 at Georgia on Saturday.

Toumani Camara posted a game-high 19 points with 10 rebounds, Justin Kier scored 18 points and Tye Fagan tallied 17 points with nine rebounds as Georgia (6-0) ran away for an 83-68 win over Cincinnati (2-4) on Saturday at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia.
 
Jeremiah Davenport scored 13 of his career-high 18 points in the second half to go with six rebounds to lead the Bearcats, who lost their third consecutive game. Keith Williams contributed 14 points. Tari Eason added 11 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks.  

A close game midway through the first half went quickly in the direction of Georgia. A layup by Davenport gave the Bearcats a 23-22 lead at 7:32 before the Bulldogs ended the half on a 27-4 run, including a 15-0 spurt over the final 4:26. Georgia shot 56 percent (20 of 36) from the field in the first half. 

Georgia scored 16 points off 13 UC first-half turnovers while the Bearcats connected on only 2 of 17 tries from 3-point range in the first stanza. 

UC started the second half strong, cutting a 49-26 halftime deficit to 12 points at 51-39 on a dunk by Eason with 16:13 remaining. However, the Bearcats could get no closer.
