ORLANDO, Fla. – Keith Williams posted a double-double with 19 points and a game-high 10 rebounds and Zach Harvey poured in a career-high 15 points but a late rally fell short as Cincinnati (2-5, 0-2 American) fell at UCF, 75-70, Tuesday at Addition Financial Arena.

American Athletic Conference Player of the Week Brandon Mahan led UCF (3-1, 1-0) with 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting with five 3-pointers and 10 rebounds. Isaiah Adams scored 15 points. Darin Green Jr., added 12 points.

UC saw itself down 10 points at 70-60 with 3:43 remaining when things got interesting.

The Bearcats put together a 10-1 run thanks to five straight points from Williams on a layup, and three free throws. Mika Adams-Woods converted a layup and later his 3-pointer with 1:04 left pulled UC within 71-70.

A missed 3-pointer with the shot clock expiring by UCF's Darrius Perry was rebounded by Mahan, who raced to the basket for a layup to give the Knights a 73-70 lead with 21.5 seconds left.

On UC's next possession, David DeJulius drove to the rim but Mahan deflected the ball to his teammate Perry and UCF held on to win its league opener.

The Bearcats outrebounded the Knights 41-27 but turned the ball over 19 times, leading to 26 UCF points.

UCF made nine threes in the game and shot 54 percent from the field in the second half on 15-of-28 shooting.
