CINCINNATI — Mika Adams-Woods tallied a game-high 16 points and Chris Vogt scored eight of his 12 points inside the game's final eight minutes to help Cincinnati (1-0) rally past Lipscomb, 67-55, Wednesday at Fifth Third Arena.
The Bisons owned a 47-38 advantage with 11 minutes left and a 49-43 lead at the 7:50 mark before the Bearcats started their comeback, posting a 24-6 run to close out the game.
With the game tied 51-51 with 5:00 left, Vogt slammed home a Keith Williams miss then followed with a put-back on another Williams miss before Adams-Woods nailed a 3-pointers to give the Bearcats a 58-51 lead at 3:53 to help seal the win.
Vogt also pulled down seven rebounds and finished with three blocks.
Colgate graduate transfer Rapolas Ivanauskas posted 11 points with seven rebounds while Michigan transfer David DeJulis added six points and four assists without a turnover in their Bearcat debuts.
Greg Jones and Romeao Ferguson led Lipscomb (1-2) with 12 points each.
The win was Cincinnati's 11th in its last 13 season openers. The Bearcats improve to 97-23 in lid lifters all-time, including an 86-11 mark at home.
