Cincinnati (1-0) is coming off its season opening victory against Northern Illinois University. The Bearcats took an early doubles point winning 2-1, allowing them to secure the 4-3 victory over the Huskies, tying 3-3 in singles play.

Kim Gintrand had a standout weekend, winning both her singles (1-0) and doubles (1-0) matches. Assisting Gintrand in doubles was Ioana Guna. The duo won their back-and-forth battle claiming the doubles victory over the Huskies in a tiebreaker early in the dual-meet. Gintrand would go on to post a singles (1-0) victory of her own, winning the last two sets in best of three play.

Kentucky (2-0) is off to a powerful start this season, sweeping both East Tennessee and the University of Memphis 7-0 in their first two dual-meets of the season. Posting perfect back-to-back sweeps proves a challenge for Bearcats when traveling to Lexington, Ky., tomorrow.

Both victories for the Wildcats have been within the walls of their home stadium, the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex. Here, Kentucky will host the Miami University (OH) and Cincinnati in a double header.
