CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati swim and dive is set to host crosstown rival Xavier in its final home meet of the season this Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at 12 p.m. ET in the Keating Aquatic Center.
Before the meet swim and dive also looks to honor its seniors during senior day. The ceremony will take place before the meet where each of the Bearcats eighteen seniors will be individually recognized for their time and accomplishments while attending UC.
The seniors being honored are listed as follows: Zach Baecker, Audrey Capannari, Maddie Exton, Claire Farrell, Blake Hanna, Victoria Hunt, Abby Johnston, Lina Kutsko, Jamie Kolar, Conor Lynch, Remington Oland, Dominic Polling, Kaley Pook, Katie Qualls, Grace Seibert, Tai Sims, Gus Staubitz, and Toby Van Dyke.
LEGACY
During their time at the school, these swimmers and divers were able to leave their mark in the UC record books, posting school records during their time as Bearcats. Seniors such as Polling will leave holding multiple records and accolades.
Blake Hannah: 200m Backstroke (1:43.37) School record.
Dominic Polling:100m Breaststroke (52.98), 200m Breaststroke (1:56.85), 200m IM (1:45.43).
Lina Kutsko:100m Fly (52.20).
LAST TIME OUT
It has been almost two months since we last saw the Bearcats in action, where they fell to nationally ranked No.15/12 Notre Dame, back on Dec. 4, 2020. UC was able to secure five first place victories against the Irish, as well as twenty-seven other podium finishes. Among the first-place finishes were three seniors Hunt, Exton, and Hannah as well as freshman Hunter Gubeno.
Hunt took the women's 100m breast with a time of 1:04.11, while Exton finished strong in the woman's 100m free with a time of 50.36.
Hannah was able to secure the men's 100m free with a time of 47.66, and freshman Gubeno had a standout day with first place finishes in the 200 back and the 200 IM with times of 1:43.51 and 1:47.81, respectively.

The Bearcats will travel to Louisville, KY on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 where they will take on Cardinals at the Ralph Wright Natatorium, beginning with the women at 10 a.m. followed by the men at 2:00 p.m.
