CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team announced a 53-game 2021 schedule with the season set to open on Friday, Feb. 19 at Clemson.
Prior to a pandemic-shortened 2020, fourth-year Head Coach Scott Googins led the Bearcats to one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2019. The Bearcats won the Anerican Athletic Conference Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Baseball Tournament for the first time in 45 years.
UC enters 2021 led by three preseason All-AAC selections in DH Wyatt Stapp, 3B Eric Santiago and LHP Evan Shawver were named preseason All-AAC. Stapp is a two-time preseason all-conference honoree while Santiago and Shawver were tabbed for the first time. The league's preseason poll, released on Dec. 30, 2020, tabbed the Bearcats to finish sixth in the AAC behind top choice ECU.
UC will open the season at Clemson on Friday, Feb. 14 with the home opener at UC Baseball Stadium set for Friday, March 12 against Western Michigan.
Per conference policy, AAC weekend series will be four games with a doubleheader on Friday's starting at 1 p.m. ET.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, UC will limit fans in UC Baseball Stadium to begin the season. Parents and player guests for home and visiting teams will be allowed but no public tickets will be sold. Athletics will revisit this policy throughout the season and announce updates as they become available.
