CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics is seeking nominees for the 2021 James P. Kelly Sr. UC Athletics Hall of Fame class. Nominations will be accepted from now through April 1, 2021.
 
Candidacy for the UC Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2021 is open to outstanding Bearcats student-athlete alumni and teams who are no less than five (5) years removed from the completion of their intercollegiate athletics eligibility, making student-athletes who completed their athletic career in 2015-16 or earlier eligible for the 2021 Hall of Fame class. Former UC coaches who have retired or have departed the University at least three years prior to the previous Hall of Fame induction class, the 2015-16 athletic year or earlier, are also eligible for nomination to the Hall of Fame. 

Candidates for consideration for induction into the UC Athletics Hall of Fame must have provided and/or exhibited outstanding contributions to intercollegiate athletics at the University of Cincinnati.  Nominations are open to all individuals who wish to support the candidacy of a standout Bearcats student-athlete alumnus, team, coach or administrator to be considered by the Hall of Fame committee.
 
CRITERIA OF CANDIDATES
  1. There should be no question as to a candidate's qualifying for election.
  2. Candidates must have earned a majority of credits required for graduation from the University of Cincinnati and must have left UC in good academic standing.
  3. A five-year period must elapse from the time the athlete completes his/her undergraduate intercollegiate athletics competition before the student-athlete may be considered a candidate for induction. There is no time restriction for non-student athletes to be considered, but it is suggested that these individuals be separated from UC employment for a minimum of three (3) years before initial consideration. In the event of a special circumstance, the Committee Chairperson may introduce a potential inductee for discussion with a majority vote of committee members required for this person to be advanced to nominee status.
  4. A candidate must have earned a minimum of two (2) letters in one varsity sport or one (1) letter in two sports.
  5. The following shall be considered in evaluating a candidate for election to the Hall of Fame. This list should not be considered all-inclusive.Committee may assign their own values to the various criteria when evaluating a candidate: Achievements as a UC student-athlete. Character exhibited while participating as a UC student-athlete, Other contributions to the University while an Undergraduate (academic achievement, citizenship, extracurricular participation). Accomplishments, citizenship and character exhibited after the student-athlete has completed his/her intercollegiate athletics career.

No. 1 - Online: Via the Hall of Fame Nomination Form found HERE. Complete the necessary information, and send the document electronically.  One can also print the same HOF Nomination Form and use Method No. 2 below.

No. 2 - Via Mail: Use the PDF hall of fame form HERE (PDF). Letters of nomination for each candidate along with pertinent copies or links to online newspaper or magazine content, yearbooks, or scrapbooks should be sent to:  Hall of Fame, University of Cincinnati Athletics, 2751 O'Varsity Way, Suite 860, Cincinnati, OH 45221-0021.  Please note that any original support materials cannot be returned.
