TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati tennis team fell against the University of Tulsa in the first day of American Athletic Conference play. Cincinnati (1-3, 0-1 AAC) gave up the doubles point early in the match, followed by an 6-0 singles sweep by Tulsa (5-2, 2-0 AAC) awarding Tulsa its fourth 7-0 sweep of the season.
The doubles team of Emma Miceli and Kelli Niehaus faced off against the No. 22 nationally ranked doubles team of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner. The Bearcats would battle back and forth with Golden Hurricanes claiming a five-point set, only to fall 7-5.

"A tough weekend overall for our team, but I feel we competed in both days pretty well. We had girls just getting back into the routine of playing matches again and others getting their first taste of DI Tennis. It's a shame we couldn't get the win vs Oral Roberts. The chances were there, but credit Oral Roberts for being the better team on Saturday. And Tulsa is Tulsa. A program on very solid ground, they were much better today…our team needs to simply get girls back to good health and keep advancing their Tennis when we get back to work next week. The challenges are certainly there for our group. But, Kat and I believe in these girls and know they will persistently do what is needed to round this team into form."
