CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team will travel south to Highland Heights, Kentucky Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. ET to take on Northern Kentucky University inside Regents Hall.
 
LAST TIME OUT
 
Cincinnati (4-2, 2-0 AAC) opened American Athletic Conference play with a pair of wins over ECU in its two day match up against the Pirates. The Bearcats posted a 3-1 day-one victory over the Pirates led by Maria Mallon in her season debut.
 
Mallon registered a double-double with 21 kills and 21 digs. Her 21 kills were the most for a UC player this season and she averaged both 5.25 digs and kills per set.
 
Following their Thursday Victory, the Bearcats completed the two-day series on a three-set sweep over ECU. This 3-0 victory marks the Bearcats first of the season, kickstarting their conference play with a dominating performance.
 
Last week's AAC Offensive Player of the Week Adria Oliver closed out the week with an extraordinary performance.
 
Oliver accumulated 26 kills on 47 attempts with only 5 errors, over two days of AAC conference play against ECU.

Oliver also had a hitting percentage of .447, averaging 3.71 kills per set in two victories while also racking up 1 block per set, significantly impacting the Bearcats defense. 
 
THIS WEEK
 
The Bearcats are settling back into business as usual as they look to extend their win streak going into Tuesday's match against NKU (3-3).
 
This matchup against NKU marks the fourth matchup in series history. The Bearcats last victory against NKU was on a 3-0 set sweep back in 2015 at home inside Fifth Third Arena.
 
Most recently, NKU claimed a win of their own back in 2019 on a 2-3 win over Cincinnati inside Regents Hall and leads the series all time 2-1.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
 
Ashley Kozer continues to feed the Bearcats through six games, accumulating 12.18 assists per set, securing the No 2. spot in the NCAA and sits atop the AAC in Assists per set.
 
Following suit, Cincinnati currently holds the No. 4 spot in the NCAA for assists per set. In the AAC the Bearcats continue to lead the conference in assists, averaging 13.86 per set.
 
Cincinnati also holds the AACs No.1 spot in kills, averaging 14.55 through 22 sets. UCF and SMU trail in second, posting 13.67 kills per set through 27 sets and 24 sets respectively.
 
Kerstin Ficker leads the Bearcats in total service aces accumulating 10 through 22 sets, averaging 0.45 and the No. 2 spot in AAC.
 
Not far behind Ficker, both Kozer and Maria Tobergte share the AACs No. 4 spot for service aces. Both Kozer and Tobergte have matched nine total aces through 22 sets with an average of 0.41.
