CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team returns to action Wednesday, facing Liberty on the road with a noon first draw slated at Liberty Lacrosse Field.

Live stats are available at BearcatStats.com. The game will not be live streamed.

It will be the first outdoor match for both teams in 2021. UC opened up the season with a 20-19 win over Marquette in the Sheakley Athletics Center Bubble on Sunday, Feb. 14 while the Flames fell 9-8 at Robert Morris on Sunday, Feb. 21.

Wednesday marks the third meeting in the all-time series with UC holding a 2-0 edge by virtue of a road win in 2012 and home win in 2013.

EARLY HONORS FOR THE BEARCATS
Senior Monica Borzillo was named American Athletic Conference Attacker of the Week and USA Lacrosse Division I Player of the Week following the win at Marquette while fellow seniors Morgan Dukes and Sam Mlkvy were tabbed for the AAC's weekly honor roll on Feb. 15.

All three played key roles in UC's 20-19, season-opening win over Marquette, which saw the Bearcats score three goals in the final four minutes to secure the come-from-behind victory.

Borzillo scored two of UC's final three goals and totaled five on the day. She tied her own AAC, school and career marks with six assists and 11 points, also adding two draw controls with no turnovers. Borzillo shares the AAC single-game mark for points with Sydney Pirreca from Florida and the record for assists with three others.

Dukes finished with four ground balls and a caused turnover. She helped lead UC's lockdown defensive performance late in the match which held an aggressive Golden Eagles offense without a goal over the final 7:24. Dukes was the league's co-preseason defensive player of the year.

Mlkvy was key in getting UC's offensive possessions rolling as she set an AAC and UC single-game record with 15 draw controls. Her 15 almost matched Marquette's team effort of 17. Mlkvy led the American with 97 draw controls in 2019.
