TULSA – Keith Williams scored a game-high 24 points and Jeremiah Davenport made a layup with 12 seconds left to lift Cincinnati (8-8, 6-5 American) to a 70-69 road win over Tulsa (10-10, 7-8) on Wednesday.

Tulsa owned a 69-68 lead with 18 seconds remaining but a pass from Tulsa's Brandon Rachal was deflected by UC's Mika Adams-Woods on the left wing. Davenport picked up the ball and raced to the paint where he converted a layup to give the Bearcats a 70-69 lead.

Tulsa had a chance to win it but Rachal's shot in traffic missed before time expired giving UC its fifth win in its last six games.

Williams recorded his third 20-point scoring game of the season, posting 16 of his 24 points in the first half. He also handed out a career-best six assists. Davenport finished with 14 points, four 3-pointers and eight rebounds. Mason Madsen added a career-high nine points thanks to a trio of threes in the first half.

Elijah Joiner led Tulsa with 22 points, including 10-of-13 shooting at the free throw line. Rachal posted a double-double with 10 points and a game-best 12 rebounds.

UC started slow, trailing 15-3 about seven minutes into the game after a layup by Tulsa's Rey Idowu. But Williams sparked the comeback with 10 points and Madsen hit three key triples to give the Bearcats a 37-34 lead at halftime.

UC build a nine-point advantage three times in the second half, the last being a 63-54 lead following an Adams-Woods layup with 8:15 remaining. However, Joiner made a 3-pointer with 2:01 left to tie the game at 67-67. Rachael then made a pair of free throws at 1:35 to give the Golden Hurricane a 69-67 lead at 1:35.

UC's David DeJulius made one of two free throw attempts at 1:25 remaining to bring the Bearcats within 69-68, setting the stage for Davenport's heroics.

UC matched a season-high making 10 3-pointers, outrebounded Tulsa 41-32 and led in second-chance points, 16-2.
