TicketsSEA ISLAND, GA. – University of Cincinnati men's golfer Sam Jean shot a final-round 69 to finish third while the Bearcats played eighth as a team at the Spartan Collegiate at Sea Island hosted by Michigan State in Sea Island, Georgia.
Jean finished with a 6-under par 210, four shots behind Iowa's Mac McClear, who shot a 65 to win the two-day, 54-hole event on the Plantation Course.
UC carded a 54-hole total of 863 and was eighth, 12 shots back of tournament winner Iowa. The Hawkeyes fired an 11-under score of 277 in a come-from-behind win.
Clay Amlung and Joey McCarthy tied for 12th-place a 2-under par 214. McCarthy had his first career hole-in-one Tuesday on the seventh hole, a 156-yard Par-3 on the way to shooting a 3-under 69.
Ty Gingerich (225) tied for 61st and Cole Harris (239) placed 78th.
