Lacrosse Earns 15-11 Road Triumph At CMU Sunday

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team found the back of the net three times in the final 4:36 to earn a 15-11 win at Central Michigan in nonconference action at the CMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex Sunday.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team found the back of the net three times in the final 4:36 to earn a 15-11 win at Central Michigan in nonconference action at the CMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex Sunday.
 
The Bearcats (4-2) have won three games in seven days over Mid-American Conference foes, knocking off Kent State and Robert Morris at Nippert Stadium and Sunday's road win at CMU (3-4).
 
Leading 12-11 with 8:22 remaining, Peyton Mottice (4:36), Alyssa Adams (3:11) and Monica Borzillo (1:30) each scored to help propel the Bearcats to the win. UC held possession, limiting the Chippewas to one shot in the final 7:39 which was saved by GK Kate Brocato, one of her seven in the game.
 
Adams and Mottice each scored four goals, Borzillo added three and Kylie Nause scored twice and added a pair of assists.
 
UC took advantage of its free-position shots, converting four of five attempts. 
 
Sam Mlkvy and Adams combined for 17 draw controls, outdueling CMU who totaled nine as a team.
 
UP NEXT
UC opens American Athletic Conference play against Vanderbilt on Friday, March 19 and Sunday, March 21 inside Nippert Stadium. Friday's match will have a 4 p.m. ET first draw while Sunday's matchup starts at noon. Both contests will air on ESPN+ with live stats also available.
 
Lacrosse will have an open attendance policy for home matches this season with all being Experience UC events. All fans are welcome to attend in a safe and socially distant manner. Masks are required at all times while on campus.
