TicketsSTATESBORO, Ga. – University of Cincinnati junior Joe McCarthy (Cincinnati, Ohio/DePaul/St. Xavier) continues to lead the Bearcats' effort at the Schenkel Invitational, posting a 4-over par 76 Saturday to slip into a five-way tie for 21st place at 1-over 145 after two rounds at the Forest Heights Country Club.
McCarthy recorded three birdies and eight par scores to offset six bogies. He posted his best round of the season during Friday's opening round with a 3-under 69.
NC State's Benjamin Shipp continues to lead the 80-player field at 12-under 132 after a pair of 6-under 66s.
UC's Clay Amlung (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier HS) also registered a 4-over 76 Saturday to tie for 43rd place at 5-over 149. Ty Gingerich (Russiaville, Ind./Guerin Catholic HS) is tied for 64th position at 9-over 153 following a second-round 78. Sam Jean (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove HS) is a shot behind Gingerich after 7-over 79 to tie for 67th place at 10-over 154. Jack Kunkel (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview HS) took an 81 Saturday to tie for 73rd at 12-over 156.
The Bearcats dropped four slots into 12th place at 25-over 601 after registering a 21-over 309 Saturday.
