CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati soccer team concludes a five-match homestand against RV Tennessee on Sunday at Gettler Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
The game will air on ESPN+ with live stats also available.
The teams have met twice before, most recently in a 3-1 Tennessee win in Knoxville in 2019. The first meeting took place in the second round of the 2002 NCAA Tournament, a 2-1 UT win. This is the first meeting at Gettler Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bearcats (1-4) battled the elements and the Memphis Tigers Thursday, falling 2-0 in an American Athletic Conference match at Gettler Stadium. Temperatures were in the 40s with swirling, gusting winds and periods of rain. Cincinnati had a number of good chances, but ran into a strong Memphis (5-1, 4-0 AAC) squad who extended its regular-season, league-game winning streak to 16 games, dating back to 2018. The Tigers have yet to allow a goal in four AAC games this season.
UC committed a season-low four fouls and earned a season-best four corner kicks
SCOUTING TENNESSEE
Sunday's game will be the first for the Vols (8-4-1) since knocking off Wake Forest 2-0 at home on Saturday, March 6. UT has won four-straight to open the spring campaign and is outscoring its opponents 18-1. They are receiving votes for the third-straight week in the United Soccer Coaches rankings.
The Vols have two local players on their roster, MF Lawson Renie (Country Day) and MF/D Caitlin Foley (Springfield Catholic Central).
