CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team continues American Athletic Conference play this weekend with a pair of matches at No. 11 Florida. 
 
The teams square off at 4 p.m. ET Friday and noon on Sunday inside Donald R. Dizney Stadium. Friday's game will air on YouTube while live stats will be available for both matches. A radio stream will be available on Sunday.
 
The AAC – now in its third lacrosse season – has announced a new format for the 2021 campaign, with each team playing five conference series during league play. The two-game series will take place over the course of three days, with a rest day in between games.

ABOUT THE BEARCATS
  • Alyssa Adams and Kylie Nause (26) lead the scoring tally with Monica Borzillo (19g, 15a) helping complete a strong attacking trio who has scored 71 of UC's 103 goals.
  • Borzillo is the program's all-time leader in most offensive categories, Nause was tabbed for the AAC Honor Roll this week and Adams has 26g, 36dc, 10gb and 4dc.
  • Sam Mlkvy has registered 52 draw controls, including a school-record 15 in the opener against Marquette. She is UC's all-time leader in the category.
  • Adrianna Fess, one of three Fess triplets on the squad, has 26 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.
  • Morgan Dukes was tabbed as AAC Preseason Co-Defensive POTY. She has totaled 11gb and 4ct.
  • Goalkeeper Kate Brocato has a .424 save pct. w/61 saves.
LAST TIME OUT
  • UC dropped a pair of matchups with Vanderbilt last weekend. Both were winnable and finished wtih two-goal deficits, but the Bearcats' late comeback came up short Friday and couldn't overcome a second-half surge by Vandy on Saturday.
  • Nause has 7g and 2a, Adams had 6g and 14 dc.
WE ARE FAMILY
  • UC has three sets of siblings on the team, including the Fess triplets (Adrianna, Alexandra, Amanda) and the Finotti (Jennie & Sophia) and Mlkvy (Dani & Sam) sisters.
ABOUT THE GATORS
  • Florida enters on a five-match winning streak with their only loss at No. 1 North Carolina on Feb. 19 (11-5).
  • Shannona Kavanagh (24g, 32dc) and Grauce Haus (15g) lead the scoring threats while Cara Trombetta (23gb, 10ct leads the UF defense.
  • GK Sarah Reznick leads the American in GAA (8.18) and save percentage (.539), tallying 62 saves in 2021.
