CITY OF BLINDING LIGHTS
- Kendall Battle scored her second-straight game winner to propel UC to a 1-0 OT victory over Houston on Wednesday.
- Battle's goal in the 95th minute came after Sophie Gorman dribbled through the defense and fired a one-timer at goal which bounced of Houston goalkeeper Salma Ghazal to the right foot of a scampering Battle who slid it under two defenders for the golden goal.
- It marked the third straight UC home match against Houston at Gettler Stadium which ended up in the extra period and was UC's first overtime victory against a conference foe since winning at UConn in 2019.
- Battle also scored the game winner in the 83rd minute over RV Tennessee on Sunday, March 21.
FROM THE SPOT
- Lauren Bastian scored her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 75th minute of a 2-1 in over Tennessee.
- It was UC's first PK goal since Han Tang at Lipscomb (2019).
- Bastian's brace snapped a 253-minute scoreless streak for the Bearcats, who had last scored a goal in the second minute of the Temple game on March 14, 2021.
