GREENSBORO, N.C. – Blake Hanna concludes his NCAA Championship debut, competing over three days in Greensboro, North Carolina as the first male to qualify for Cincinnati since Christopher Bready in 2017.
THE BREAKDOWN
Slated for the three days of competition, Hanna earned his spot at the NCAA DI Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in the 200IM, 100 back, and 200 back, following his performances throughout the season, including his record-breaking performances at the AAC Championship and the Louisville Men's Invitational earlier this season.
Hanna was unable to make it out of preliminaries but posted a top-30 finish in both the 100 back (28th) and the 200 back (30th).
Hanna also recorded his second fastest times in the 200 IM and 100 back, touching the wall in 1:46.68, enough to earn the 47th slot in the 200 IM, while also clocking in at 46.63 in the 100 back.
Hanna leaves his mark in the UC record book as one of the top performing swimmers in Bearcats history, accumulating four total school records in the 100 Back, 200 Back, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Medley Relay. He also holds the second-best time in the 200 IM.
