TicketsJACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of Cincinnati freshman Paighton Masterson (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake HS) and junior transfer Katie Hallinan (Loveland, Ohio/Illinois) posted 10-over par 154 scores Monday to tie for 32nd place to lead the Bearcats effort at the UNF Collegiate at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
Masterson recorded three birdies and 22 par scores while Hallinan posted five birdies and 20 par scores during the 36 holes of play Monday.
Freshman Carmela Simon Prieto (Valencia, Spain), who is playing the event as an individual unattached from the team score, finished at 12-over 156, tying for 46th position.
Other Bearcats results include: Natalia Sompolvorachai (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy Orange HS) and Erin Evans (Carmel, Ind./Carmel HS) tying for 84th place at 22-over 166 and Vanessa Manrique tying for 91st place at 26-over 170.
Sam Houston's Hanna Alberto leads the field at even par 144.
Host North Florida leads the 17-team field at 13-over 589. UC is 15th at 60-over 636.

"I was really happy with the play from Carmela, Katie and Paighton during the first round," UC head coach Janet Carl said. "But the players became tired and mentally worn out during the afternoon round. The team had played their way into a decent position and gave it away.
"It will be very important to go out tomorrow and put together a good round to see if we can climb a few spots. We are working through several injuries and waiting for a few to heal enough to be able to play pain free."
