TicketsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – University of Cincinnati men's golf team got its first 18 holes in the books but did not complete the second round due to darkness on Saturday at the Boilermaker Invitational on the Kampen Course (par-72 • 7,405 yards) at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Cincinnati was one of eight teams in the 16-squad field which have yet to finish the second 18. The second round was called at 8:35 p.m. ET due to darkness. It will conclude on Sunday morning and be followed by the final 18 holes of the tournament.
UC was tied for 12th in the first round after a team score of 9-over-par 297. Indiana fired an 8-under-par score of 280 to lead the event by a stroke over Minnesota.
Ty Gingerich was in a tie for 15th after his opening-round score of 71 (-1). Joey McCarthy is tied for 29th with a 1-over-par 73. Sam Jean shot 76 and is tied for 53rd while Clay Amlung and Mason Lenhart both shot 77 and are tied for 61st.
Three Bearcats, Cole Harris, Jack Kunkel and Tommy Sullinger, are competing in the individual event at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course. Harris and Sullinger sit tied for fourth after both shooting 36-hole scores of 143, trailing Indiana's Brock Ochsenreiter by six strokes. Kunkel is tied for 32nd after an opening-day 152.
