TicketsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati men's golf team closed out its regular season Sunday with the final 21 holes at the Boilermaker Invitational on the Kampen Course (par-72 • 7,405 yards) at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The Bearcats finished up the final three holes of their second round on Sunday morning after it was suspended by darkness on Saturday night and then played the final 18 holes of the tournament.
UC finished 14th in a strong field, shooting a team total of 893. Kent State won the event by two strokes after firing a 12-under-par team score of 852.
Mason Lenhart (221), Ty Gingerich (222) and Sam Jean (223) finished within one stroke of each other, placing tied for 33rd, tied for 38th and tied for 41st, respectively. Lenhart's second-round tally of 68 was the low 18 among the Bearcats quintet in the team event. Joey McCarthy was 73rd (231) and Clay Amlung (232) tied for 74th.
Minnesota's Angus Flanagan took medalist honors by one stroke with a 9-under-par total of 207.
Three Bearcats, Cole Harris, Jack Kunkel and Tommy Sullinger, competed in the individual event at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course. Harris tied for sixth after shooting a 2-under-par 221 and Sullinger also finished in the top-10 with a 1-over-par total of 217. Kunkel was 34th with his total of 232.
