CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati golfer Sam Jean tied for low round of the day and moved into a tie for fourth after 36 holes of the 2021 American Athletic Conference Championship at Southern Hills Club in Brooksville, Florida.
Jean shot a 3-under-par score of 69 and is four shots off the lead for medalist honors. Wichita State's Marcus Wochner sits in first after a two-round total of 136 (-8). He leads Albin Bergstrom and Kyle Flexsenhar of USF (-5), Jean and SMU's Noah Goodwin (-4).
The field faced blustery scoring conditions on Saturday as the day's stroke average was a full stroke higher than Friday. USF continues to lead the team title race, checking in at 14-under par with an 11-shot lead of second-place SMU. Cincinnati shot a team round of 292 for a 36-hole total of 5-over-par 581.
Clay Amlung held his position in a tie for 11th, checking in at even-par 144 following a second-round 73.
Joey McCarthy is tied for 30th, Ty Gingerich is tied for 33rd and Mason Lenhart is 37th.
