LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Cincinnati track and field program claimed gold in two events and six podium finishes to close out the first day of competition at the Clark Wood Open in Louisville, Kentucky, Friday evening.

WINNER WINNER
On the men's side, Aaron Bienenfeld got back to work claiming a new personal best in the 5000m with a clocking of 13:45.72. With this time, Bienenfeld shattered the current meet record by 15 seconds and narrowly missing the UC all-time record by less than a second. This win serves as Bienenfeld's first individual outdoor win of the season and his first since the American Athletic Conference Championship two years ago, which he claimed in the 10,000m.

On the women's side, Taylor Beard soared through the rankings to claim a top mark of 1.79m (5-10.50) in the women's high jump, and her first individual outdoor career win. Following her success from this year's Indoor season where she claimed four high jump victories, Beard shares the 13th slot in the nation with her performance at the Clark Wood Open.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Ellie Leather left it all on the track narrowly missing the first-place crown by .03 seconds in the 800m. With a personal best time of 2:08.19, Leather edged out the previous meet record which was previously set at 2:09.79. Breaking her way into another UC record, she now holds the No.2 slot all-time for an individual performance in the 800m.
