Men’s Golf Closes Hoosier Collegiate Invitational In Fifth Place

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati men's golf finished fifth at the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational on Sunday at the Pfau Course (Par 71; 7,432 yards) in Bloomington, Indiana.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati men's golf finished fifth at the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational on Sunday at the Pfau Course (Par 71; 7,432 yards) in Bloomington, Indiana. 
 
UC posted a team total of 903 to tie with a final-round tally of 296. Michigan State took the victory (885), Indiana was second (892), Nebraska (897) placed third and Memphis was fourth (901).
 
Ty Gingerich was the top individual finisher, shooting a 9-over total of 222 (76-73-73), seven shots off the lead of individual medalist James Piot from Michigan State who topped the leader board at 2-over-par 215 (72-70-73).
 
Sam Jean finished 14th with a three-round total of 224 (77-73-74), Mason Lenhart tied for 26th (79-75-74), Joey McCarthy was tied for 32nd (80-75-75) and Clay Amlung placed in a tie for 46th (84-74-76) in the 60-golfer field.
