Harting & Shawver Tabbed For 2021’s Final AAC Weekly Awards

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball student-athlete Cole Harting was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week while pitcher Evan Shawver earned a spot on the league's weekly honor roll the conference announced Monday.

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball student-athlete Cole Harting was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week while pitcher Evan Shawver earned a spot on the league's weekly honor roll the conference announced Monday.
 
Cincinnati (29-24, 18-14 AAC) swept a four-game series with Tulane last weekend at UC Baseball Stadium, the Bearcats first-ever four-game sweep of a conference foe.
 
Harting hit .556 and slugged 1.167 for the week, getting 10 hits, scoring eight runs with three doubles, two home runs, a triple and a pair of stolen bases.
 
Shawver got the win on Friday in an 11-1, seven-inning victory over the Green Wave. He threw 90 pitches in a six-inning outing, striking out eight and giving up one run on two hits. He notched career strikeout 150 during the game and moved to 3-1 on the year.

The Bearcats earned the No. 4 seed in the AAC Tournament and will face No. 5 UCF at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday in Clearwater, Florida. The teams will meet at BayCare Ballpark in a game televised by ESPN+ with live stats on BearcatStats.com.
