CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's golf team has claimed seven All-American Scholar accolades, presented by Srixon/Cleveland Golf, from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), as announced Friday.
Clay Amlung, Cole Harris, Sam Jean, Mason Lenhart, Joe McCarthy, Nicolas Osterburg and Tommy Sullinger all earned the honor as a sophomore, junior or senior with a 3.2 cumulative GPA. All have also competed in 40-plus percent of the team's competitive rounds and be of high moral character and good standing at his school.
"I am super proud of this group and their efforts in the classroom," head coach Doug Martin said. "This team continues to hold each other to very high academic standards."
Jean and Amlung both were named to the All-AAC team as well, while Jean also garnered Division I PING All-Midwest Region accolades.
The Bearcats last season finished in the top-five in four of seven tournaments last year, including the Craft Farms Intercollegiate title.
