CINCINNATI – An American Athletic Conference best 354 University of Cincinnati student-athletes were named to the league's all-academic team while six programs were recognized with AAC Team Academic Excellence Awards Thursday as the conference continued rolling out its postseason academic honors.

Women's golf, lacrosse, soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving and tennis were all recognized for team excellence by the conference's faculty athletics representatives. The winning teams were chosen based on the 2020-21 grade-point average of each student-athlete who appeared on an institution's roster at the end of the academic year, weighing each student's GPA by credit-hour completed.

Nominations for the All-Academic Team are submitted by each of the American Athletic Conference's member institutions. To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in an American Athletic Conference-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.

The nominations are reviewed and approved by the American Athletic Conference Academic Affairs Committee.
