CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati soccer team returns to the pitch Tuesday for its first fall action when it hosts Bowling Green in a 6 p.m. exhibition match.
Admission is free all season, and ESPN Plus streaming will be available starting Aug. 22 against Toledo. Garage parking at Gettler Stadium is $5.
It will be a welcome return to normalcy for the program after last season was postponed to the spring due to COVID-19. The Bearcats went 5-5-1 and reached the AAC Championship before falling to No. 14 South Florida.
UC returns a slew of standouts from last season, including Ashley Barron, the AAC Defensive Player of the Year, and All-Conference honorees Kendall Battle, Alli Pestaina and Lauren Bastian. Nine of 10 players who scored a goal also return, as well as sophomore goalkeeper Anna Rexford, who was third in the league for saves per game (3.27).
The Bearcats are 3-1 all-time against the Falcons, with the last meeting a 2-1, double-overtime road win in 2010.
