CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior forward Vanessa DiNardo earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference's weekly soccer honor roll for her recent performances, as announced by the league.

DiNardo provided one of the more emotional, storybook goals in the country on Thursday. In her first game wearing the No. 3 jersey to honor the memory of lifelong friend and Bearcats teammate Ally Sidloski, she scored on a header in the 10th minute at NKU. The goal, a rebound from Kendall Battle's header and subsequent save, gave UC an early lead before Lauren Bastian scored 2:03 later (the 12th-fastest span between goals in school history). The Bearcats defeated defending Horizon champ NKU, 2-1, and it was DiNardo's fifth-career goal.

The Strongsville, Ohio, native has built a strong reputation within the AAC. She was a unanimous selection to the 2018 All-Rookie Team in addition to receiving 2019 Preseason First-Team honors. This marks her second honor roll spot as well.

The Bearcats (1-0-1) tied with Toledo on Sunday to close the weekend. Next up is a Thursday road tilt at Xavier (7 p.m.). The game will stream on FloSports, and tickets can be purchased here.
