CINCINNATI -- University of Cincinnati soccer student-athletes Paige Miller and Karli Royer were honored by the American Athletic Conference for their recent performances, earning Rookie of the Week and Honor Roll nods, respectively.

Miller, a freshman from Evansville, Ind., scored her first two collegiate goals in wins over Ball State (2-1) and Eastern Illinois (5-0) this weekend, including an assist in the latter as well. Her last four shots have been on goal (eight total attempts for the season), and she played a career-high 51 minutes Sunday. She helped the Bearcats to their seventh, four-goal game in Neil Stafford's nine-year tenure.

Royer, who claimed last week's DPOTW honors, continued her torrid pace with goals (both the game-winners) against Ball State and Eastern Illinois this weekend. She is the first Bearcat with goals in three-straight games since 2016. Her deep, one-timer goal off an opponent's deflection was one for the books, and she kick-started the scoring Sunday where UC ended with its highest score since a 9-0 win over EKU in 2014. Royer, a grad student from Westerville, is third in the AAC with three goals, and all of them have been GWGs (tops in league).

The Bearcats have four weekly AAC awards this year, as Vanessa DiNardo earned an honor roll selection after the opening week.

Cincinnati (4-1-1) returns to action Thursday night at Kansas (8 p.m. ET).

An instant classic. 🤯
