ABOUT THE SERIES
Cincinnati is 4-1-0 against Michigan all-time, with the last meeting a 2-1 home win in 2008. The teams also played consecutively from 1980-82. UC head coach Neil Stafford had two tight contests with the Wolverines as the Central Michigan head coach a decade ago. His team forged a 1-1 tie in 2011 before a 2-1, overtime defeat in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Stafford lays claim as the first MAC soccer coach to lead his team to an NCAA at-large bid.

HALFTIME SCENARIOS
UC has led at the half in each of its four wins this year, including 3-0 last Sunday against Eastern Illinois. It was in scoreless ties with Ball State and Xavier, who it eventually tied and lost to, respectively, while Thursday's defeat at Kansas was its first-such deficit overall.

BIG RISK, BIG REWARD
Cincinnati's last ranked win came on Nov. 8, 2015 on penalty kicks against No. 25 USF in the AAC Championship (which followed No. 10 UConn in the semifinals. Since then, the Bearcats are 0-8-3 against ranked foes.

LAST TIME OUT
Kansas utilized its home-field advantage in a big way Thursday, becoming the first team out of seven this year to score multiple goals on the Bearcats. It led 3-0 at the break, and UC found the scoring column in the 52nd minute on Maddy Pittman's first-career goal, a save-rebound from Lauren Bastian's attempt. Overall, UC flipped the switch to outshoot the Jayhawks 10-2 in the final 45 minutes.

SEASON LEADERS
Vanessa DiNardo and Karli Royer remain at the top of the offensive charts with three goals and one assist apiece. Eight of DiNardo's 17 shots have been on goal, approaching the career-high 50 percent from her freshman season (and up from 22.1 last spring). The Bearcats have an 85-64 shots advantage for the season.

SCOUTING MICHIGAN
The Wolverines are 5-1-1 after tying Louisville Friday night. Jennifer Klein is in her fourth season at the helm. The 2019 squad, her second, made its first NCAA appearance since 2016 while advancing to the third round.
