CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati freshman setter Emme Madden was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. This is her first weekly award.
Madden's weekend performance played a huge role in the Bearcats two conference wins, improving to 5-1 in conference play and tied for first place in The American standings. Overall, the team had a hitting percentage of .295 over the weekend, with Madden totaling 92 total assists - 13.14 assists per set. The team overall averaged 16 kills per set.
She logged 33 assists, three service aces and nine digs in the sweep at East Carolina on Oct. 6th. She finished the 4-1 win over Temple on Oct. 10th with 59 assists and nine digs.
Madden is the third UC player to be named AAC Offensive Player of the Week this season, joining middle blocker Abby Walker (Oct. 4th), and outside hitter Maria Mallon (Sept. 20th).
